Yury Hubarevich met with members of the Sejm and Senate of Poland
This week, Yury Hubarevich, coordinator of the “Personnel Reserve” campaign, took part in meetings with leading Polish politicians.
🔺 Meeting with Ryszard Petru, Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland since 2023 and chief rapporteur on democratic Belarus in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The meeting discussed the possibility of involving representatives of the Personnel Reserve in educational visits to Strasbourg to become familiar with the work of the Parliamentary Assembly.
🔺 Meeting with Grzegorz Schetyna, Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Robert Tyszkiewicz, coordinator for Polish diaspora affairs and Poles abroad.
The agenda included the organisation of internships for Personnel Reserve participants in the offices of Polish Senate members, to provide Belarusians with direct experience of working within legislative institutions.
Yury Hubarevich noted:
“Our Polish interlocutors are well informed about the situation in Belarus and closely follow developments with concern. As representatives of a country that has relatively recently undergone transformation processes, they understand the importance of preparing for change and ensuring that democratic forces are ready to manage reform processes.”
