12 December, 2024

On 11 December, a conference titled “Restoration of democratic institutions in Belarus – pathways for future reforms” was held in the European Parliament, with participants of the “Personnel Reserve” campaign in attendance.

The opening remarks were delivered by the leader of Belarusian democratic forces, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, who noted that building a democratic Belarus is a dream that is being realised step by step, gradually.

In her speech, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s advisor on parliamentary cooperation and constitutional reform, Anatoly Lyabedzka, highlighted the presence of participants of the “Personnel Reserve” campaign at the conference, emphasised the importance of the programme, and stressed that future reforms and democratic changes are impossible without trained personnel.

The conference became an important platform for the exchange of ideas and opinions. Participants noted the significance of such events for identifying solutions aimed at strengthening democratic processes and human rights.

The event took place in an atmosphere of openness and mutual understanding, inspiring participants to further work and cooperation. The conference served as a reminder of the importance of joint efforts and international support, which play a key role in promoting democratic values.
