Agreement on Internships in Albania with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya

During a visit to Albania on 5–6 February, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, among other discussions, reached an agreement with the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, on internships: a memorandum was signed to support the training of specialists in local self-government.

“We need people who will rebuild our cities after tyranny and lead them toward democracy. That is why Belarusians need opportunities to undertake internships in your universities and companies, so they can learn about democracy and self-government first-hand. We want not only to adopt best practices, but also to learn from your mistakes in order to avoid our own,” said the Belarusian leader.

As a result of the agreement, 10–20 Belarusians will have the opportunity to take part in internships in local self-government institutions and the Mayor’s Office of Tirana.
