New Appointments in the United Transitional Cabinet
The Representative of the United Transitional Cabinet for the transition of power, Pavel Latushka, has appointed two deputies – Artsiom Praskalovich and Yury Hubarevich.
Artsiom Praskalovich will be responsible for legal issues related to the prosecution of representatives of the Lukashenka regime under international law. He previously worked in public service for 14 years, including at the Partizanski District Court of Minsk, the Ministry of Justice, and the Presidential Administration. He resigned on 13 August 2020 in protest. He has extensive experience in legislation related to constitutional development and law enforcement. Over the past two years, he has been working at the People’s Anti-Crisis Management, focusing on legal matters.
Yury Hubarevich will be responsible for preparing the “Personnel Reserve” for a new Belarus. In the early 2000s, Hubarevich served as a deputy and vice-chairman of the Beloozersk City Council. He is also the chairman of the “For Freedom” movement. Within the People’s Anti-Crisis Management team, he works on regional development issues.
The appointment of experienced professionals to the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus is expected to enable more systematic and institutional work toward facilitating democratic change in Belarus.
